CapsLock key. (Eric Meyer) (Reg.Fee: $0)

FUNC21.ZIP Yes 3242 5/29/1989
Func21 enables the use of eighteen of the
function keys that PC-DOS doesn't use. The
important difference between this and other
keyboard definers (such as ANSI.SYS), is that
this one only intercepts function keys during
'command line input' (DOS function 0xA). The
result is that editors and other programs
which look for function keys as single
keystrokes don't get the new definition
instead. (Jim Weisz) (Reg.Fee: $?)

Hurry Key 1.5 is a 54k TSR that lets you
speed up keyboard repeat action while
preventing cursor run-on. If 54k of RAM is
too much, some of the other utilities in this

had some problems with it when rebooting a
machine and it doesn't allow independent
speedup of each key. (John B. Zuckerman)
(Reg.Fee: $25)

KBM.ZIP Yes 7195 5/29/1989
Keyboard Mouse When you write arcade-style
games or screen graphics software, you must
always supply a keyboard interface for those
users who don't own a joystick or a mouse.
However, the keyboard's typematic response
time is poor, so the pointer motion is slow
(one column or line per repeat) or jumpy
(several increments per repeat). This utility
solves that problem. (Reg.Fee: $?)

PKII.ZIP Yes 125916 3/2/1994
Powerkit II is a 2k TSR keyboard utility

(auto-repeat) rate yet still "stop on a
dime". It will enlarge the keyboard buffer
plus let you see the contents of the buffer.
It lets you route printer output to the
screen; escape from some program lockups; use
pop-up utilities with some programs that
normally will not let you use pop-ups. It
contains a screen blanker, a keyboard
redefinition function, a keyboard lock
function, a floppy disk motor shut-off and
more. (John H. Brooks) (Reg.Fee: $20)

PRMPT.ZIP Yes 1189 5/29/1989
PRMPT is a batch file that will redefine the
function keys for DOS and display their new
functions in a highlighted bar at the top of
the screen while in DOS. Since the chances
are that you will not want the same commands
that this file sets up, the real value of
PRMPT.BAT is that you can easily modify the
file to your own needs. (If you use a word
processor, remember to save the file in ASCII
format.) (Gerald Seidl) (Reg.Fee: $?)
PROMPT2.ZIP Yes 8259 5/29/1989

Redefine 2.14 is a 65K TSR that allows you to
assign a string of up to 60 characters to a
single combination of the ALT/function keys
and a number key. These can be used to store
long PATH names, often repeated commands,
etc. Definitions can be saved and reloaded,
or easily created on the fly. Other options
include a file viewer, pop-up calendar,
notepad, disk formatter, and more.
(Swift-Ware) (Reg.Fee: $10)
REDEFIN.ZIP Yes 16485 2/11/1990
Re-Definest will allow you to redefine up to
37 different keys to represent another string
of characters. You must have ANSI or
NANSI.SYS in your CONFIG.SYS file (see your
DOS manual). If you don't already use a
keyboard macro program such as SuperKey, you
will find this utility saves you a lot of
keystrokes while in DOS by letting you assign
common DOS commands to different keys.
Because it is easy to use, you can quickly
assign keystrokes to keys "on the fly". (Eric
Ryan) (Reg.Fee: $?)
RESETKBD.ZIP Yes 1122 5/29/1989
ResetKBD is a little program used with

SCANCOD.ZIP Yes 1838 5/29/1989
Scancode is useful for determining the scan
and ASCII values for any key or combination
of keys. The program displays the values
returned by the interrupt 16H (with AH=0).
These values are useful when patching
programs which require "Hot Keys", thus
allowing you to avoid conflicts of Hot Keys
among several memory resident programs.
(David L. Fallen) (Reg.Fee: $0)
SCROLCK.ZIP Yes 21884 3/19/1990
ScroLck 1.0 lets you redefine the keyboard
and toggle the new values on and off by
pressing the Scroll-Lock key. This program
ingeniously takes advantage of the fact that
the status of Scroll-Lock is ignored by most
other programs. You can press Scroll-Lock and
have the regular keys start putting out Greek
or other special characters. You can even
redefine them to take the place of function
keys that are hard to remember or to pop up
TSR's. (Dr. Masaaki Sawada) (Reg.Fee: $10-$20)
SHFT2LOK.ZIP Yes 471 8/10/1994

STACKEY1.ZIP Yes 356956 3/10/1994
Stackey/BATUtil 4.0 is a 1.3k TSR that lets
you control programs by passing keystrokes to
them as you load them. Features include the
ability to pass Shift key presses (eg: for
calling up Sidekick, etc); to pause keystroke
inflow until specified text appears on the
screen or until a hotkey has been pressed; to
swap a Carousel partition or DESQview window;
to load into high memory with 386max or QEMM;
to insert audible alerts and popup messages;
and more. The keystroke buffer can be up to
60k, for very complex scripts. It also
includes the ability to swap ports, reboot
the computer, etc. BATutil, included in this
archive, is a batch file enhancer
extraordinaire. It has almost 100 commands
for getting information about the system or
from the user. It makes it easy to create
attractive DOS menus; allows colors, large
characters, cursor location control, and up
to 10 tunes and 10 sounds; supports
environmental variable of up to 255
characters; uses EMS memory; and more. (Barry

SYNONYM.ZIP Yes 10150 1/25/1990
DOS Command Synonym Translator 1.0 is a
(1.5k+) TSR which translates abbreviated
commands on the DOS command line into the
fully spelled out commands. For example, DA
could be used to generate DIR A:/W. It also
provides a facility for chaining several DOS
commands on a single command line using a
user definable separator character. The
program tested fine under DV with PCED and
other TSR's loaded. (CodeCrafters) (Reg.Fee:
$10)
TCURS.ZIP Yes 7959 5/29/1989
TurboCursor allows you to zip the cursor
around but stop as soon as you lift your
finger from the cursor keys. Speed and delay
time are adjustable. Unlike utilities that
speed up the typeamatic rate on all the keys
- even dangerous ones like DEL - Tcurs just
affects the cursor keys. It can be disabled
at any time by pressing Ctrl-5. Actually, it
is also disabled when NumLock is on since
using the Shift key to get cursor movement
with NumLock on does not result in a speedup.
More good news: it only takes 5.5k of RAM. An
alarm clock is thrown in for good measure. In
testing, we had problems unless TCURS was
loaded before other resident utilities. Also,
if you do a warm boot (Ctrl-Alt-Del), TCURS
will not reload because it thinks it is
already loaded, but it will not work again
until you do a cold boot (as in: the Big
Orange Switch). (Prototype Systems Ltd.)
(Reg.Fee: $?)
TECLADO.ZIP Yes 32185 2/11/1990

presses. (David Leithauser) (Reg.Fee: $5)
WARPSPE.ZIP Yes 14258 3/7/1989
WarpSpeed 1.0 is a 1k TSR keyboard utility
which will dramatically speed up the
repetition rate of your keyboard, and it does

release the key you have been holding down
and yet the key continues to repeat. (Frank
Bell) (ASP) (Reg.Fee: $20)
XKEY.ZIP Yes 2294 5/29/1989
XKEY is a resident program that can be used
with your editor to write extended ASCII
characters by scrolling through a pop-up list
of them and selecting the one you want by
pressing Enter. Another TSR (`BOX') by the
same author locked up our machines, so we
were a little nervous about this one, but it
seems to work fine. (res:1k) (Gunner
Richwell) (Reg.Fee: $10)
YNPRTSC.ZIP Yes 4706 11/5/1991
